It takes courage to take the first step. I consider it a privilege to walk beside you on your journey to a more rewarding and fulfilling life.
I approach psychotherapy in an integrative, holistic manner that incorporates an understanding of the inter-relatedness of mind, body, and emotional health. I provide a safe and nurturing space for you to explore your feelings and express yourself freely.
Respect, compassion, and empathy are the cornerstones of my practice. I'll also challenge you in a direct, yet supportive and nonjudgmental manner, to help guide you on your quest of self-discovery while strengthening your emotional intelligence.
I specialize in working with Mood Disorders: Anxiety disorders (including panic, OCD, phobias), Bipolar disorders, and Depression. I enjoy working with life transitions, relationship issues, and identity development. I have an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, as well as attachment-based Psychodynamic Therapy, in order to help you manage your thoughts and feelings, and uncover deeper insight, meaning, and purpose.
My style has been described by clients as warm, engaging, direct, and effective. I work to build an authentic, trusting relationship and bring warmth, humor, curiosity, and optimism into practice.
Therapy is a collaborative process, where we work together to uncover and honor your own unique truth, clarify your needs, identify the tools needed to face challenges, and manage obstacles in your path to self-fulfillment.
I’ve carried a life-long interest in the human condition. Personal experiences plus professional training and expertise have given me a deeper understanding of how people act and react to their environments. Originally from New York City, I'm familiar with both east and west coasts, and the differences in the various cultures and lifestyles.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, and my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, graduating with honors. My clinical work at the Southern California Counseling Center and Fairfax High School has brought me into contact with a population that is diverse in age, ethnicity, and cultural backgrounds.
